The government approved the supplementation of the contingent of newly admitted workers on the Romanian labor market in 2021 with another 25,000. These are added to the number of 25,000 workers initially approved, by GD no. 1133/2020, at the end of last year.
The decision was taken as a result of the increase in the number of applications for the issuance of employment notices from the beginning of the year until now compared to the similar period of the previous year, but also in the number of vacancies declared by employers. The data communicated by the National Agency for Employment show that, in January-May of this year, the total number of vacancies was 160,405, compared to 156,085 in the same period last year, increasing by 2.77% , of which 29,995 communicated repeatedly by employers.
Thus, the supplementation of the contingent of workers responds to the need to ensure the labor force required in some sectors of activity, which cannot be covered by Romanian workers, and prevents situations in which foreigners work in Romania without legal forms.
According to the data provided by the General Inspectorate for Immigration, from the beginning of this year until the end of July, 17,196 employment permits were issued (ie 68.7% of the total) and for the same period another 3,620 applications are being resolved. requests for issuing employment notices.
